Paul, I've had pretty good luck but several people have been complaining about shutoffs in Spanner mode and a few people have had to remove or reformat SD cards to get it to work. My feeling is that generally it is stable but 2.98 is probably still your safest bet right now. I'll post something in the next day or two.

Here's a link to the 3.01 discussion on the wiki:

http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/message/view/home/13055203

The discussion on the groundspeak boards has been pretty quiet with no major issues reported and the issues in 2.99 seem to be addressed.

I guess the most I've probably had loaded is about 8-9.

Did all of the POIs disappear with > 10 files?

Has anyone ever tried with >10 *.gpi (Extra-POI-files)? for example files as here http://www.garminonline.de/extras/poi/. I could only see POI with only 10 *.gpi.

No Problem. I was going to go back to 2.98 but then saw the tweet you had about the bricking. So I've been checking Garmin closely. Mine crashed every time I shut it down.
