Main difference is the camera. If you need the camera for field work or geocaching it would consider it, but in general it doesn't take great pictures (your smart phone is probably better). If you care at all about the quality of the photos (vs. using the photos as a means of record keeping) then I would go with the 450t.

Mark,

Which version of software? If it is the most recent then it probably is a bug and worth sending to oregonbeta@garmin.com

It s the same in the elevation page as well as the large display field. I can send you a picture of the elevation fields, there's only room for 4 digits.

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to test it here at 400' above sea level. It could be a bug, might be worth going to the trip computer page and adding it in large data field to see if you can see it there. Do you notice the same thing on the elevation page?

Yea, really any of the elevation fields but the one im talking about is the one at the top of the map. But like I said I can't get it to read 5 digits in any elevation field. Am I missing something simple here?

Mark,

Can you be more specific about which elevation field you are talking about?

I bought the 550t and live in colorado. I routinely hike above 10,000 ft elevation but the unit only has a four character space for elevation. When I reach 10000 ft it goes back to zero causing mapping issues. Is there any way to set up the oregon 550t to log correct elevation beyond 9999 ft? I am a bit upset because 600 bucks is not cheap for a gps and no where on the garmin site does it mention anything about this issue. Please help!
