More than a Rumor? Garmin Oregon 550 Photo
Garmin Oregon 550 and 550t with built in camera
While this might not confirm the recent rumors of the Garmin Oregon 550 it certainly adds some fuel to the fire. After some digging around I found what looks like a photo of the new Garmin Oregon 550 and 550t. The picture, found on REI’s website, presumably shows both the 550 and 550t and proudly displays their new “Camera” buttons. I can’t make out any new hard buttons or features on the body although but it looks like the new high end units will sport black and red color schemes.
There was also some additional text on the REI site which suggests that the units will be named the Oregon 550 and that the camera is probably the only major distinction between these units and the Oregon 300/400. I’m assuming that if a major new feature was important enough that it would show up in a tag line like this!

Not for sure since this is all a rumor! But I’ve heard in another rumor that the camera will be 3MP.

Some more noise about the 500 showing up in the UK this morning but I don’t see any real new information. Some links to the Handtec site listing the unit but this has been there for two or three weeks and there isn’t any real new information. Looks like a modified Oregon 300 listing (the Garmin model number is actually the 300’s).
