Foarm Cases for Colorado (and Oregon soon)
I noticed this new form fitting case for the Colorado today on Amazon. It is made by a company called Foarm which advertises the case as “military grade” with the following features:
- A semi-rigid ‘Special Ops Black’ Textured-Rubber-Skin provides tactile hand grip.
- Fits the GPS unit precisely and recesses the Nav Wheel to prevent unwanted inputs. Fully washable
- Touch-Screen becomes deeply recessed for added protection. Removable Metal Belt Clip, Adjustable Neck Lanyard and Safety Clip.
- Use ‘in-the-case’ – Access to ALL buttons. Access to Battery Door in 3 seconds! A nearly indestructible case, yet lightweight – 2oz.
Sounds great especially considering that there are no other Colorado cases on when the unit is being used. The one review on Amazon was positive, does any one else have experience with the Foarm cases?
Amazon notes that a similar case is being made available for the Oregon.

I have had their case for my Legend Hcx for several months and LOVE it. I have not done the drop test yet but I do have the confidence to pass it around among Cub Scouts without fear because I do think it offers plenty of protection and at the very least a neck strap. I have had the unit in and out numerous times for battery charges and see no signs of wear or weakness at the hinge point. The only thought for improvement would for me to take the time to shorten the strap. The clip is great and I usually just clip it to my belt or pack so the strap is something I have to tuck somewhere. I have not even installed the screen protector so I cannot comment on it. All buttons are workable for adults and kids. REI should pick this up and they would sell with half the units….
